James Docherty

James is a well-kent face across multiple business sectors in Scotland and the UK, and now the proud founder of MNK.

Having started out in business (too) many years ago in sales covering airline and automotive, James evolved from the practical to the theoretical, finding a boutique marketing agency in Glasgow in need of commercial development. 

Following a merger of that business, James transplanted a host of FMCG and Sports based clients into an experiential agency, going on to form a full creative and strategic function. Taking up the role of Joint Managing Director, the business went on to become multi-award winning in sponsorship activation, digital and brand led campaigns for many of Scotland's national and international businesses.

Penultimately, the launch of  super-venue The Hydro, delivery of The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games sponsorship, creation of a customer reward and loyalty programme and the implementation of a diversity and inclusion driven title sponsorship of The Women's FA Cup,  provided 6 years of changing the awareness, engagment and perception of an energy/utility brand across the UK and Island of Ireland.

Latterly, James has designed and implemented business strategies in the world of Electric Vehicle infrastructure, rights negotiations on sports broadcast in Japan, and D2C FMCG whilst retaining projects across the music, sport, ESG and lifestyle landscapes in the UK.

Aside from that, James spends his time away from the laptop with his partner and three daughters, a crazy cockapoo and occasionally plays golf...badly.
